A new report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is a ‘code red for humanity’, United Nations secretary-general Antonio Guterres has warned.
Global warming is accelerating, and it is estimated that the Earth could be just 10 years from heating by more than 1.5 degrees Celsius, resulting in more serious and frequent fires, droughts, floods and cyclones.
We need leaders from government, business and civil society uniting behind policies, actions and investments that will limit temperature rise.
Limiting temperature rise requires big structural changes to the way the world produces electricity, heats buildings, moves around and produces food.
It’s too late to reverse the damage done to the Earth’s climate but it’s not too late to change course right away to prevent things from getting far worse.
We need to nurture nature before it is too late!
